Branicki Palace / Białystok / Polska / 14.09.2019

The history of Branicki Palace has influenced my life in an almost physical way. My wife – many years ago my girlfriend – was taking an exam to the Catholic University of Lublin, History of Art. One of the questions, as it later turned out – the most important one – concerned Branicki Palace and its baroque gardens. Sławcia didn’t make the cut. But thanks to this we studied together in Poznań. And they lived happily ever after 🙂

Olive Grove / Croatia / 16.07.2011

Thousand-year-old trees in a feral olive grove. A magical place. Time has a different dimension here. History ends and begins. Laughter, tears, joy and an engagement ring. We’ve travelled halfway across Europe to witness an engagement ceremony in an olive grove, to the accompaniment of cicadas.

Each photograph used during the journey stops being luggage, changes its destiny, takes on a new life. It creates a unique travel sack with a story in the background. Always just one. One shot, one sack. Luggage  (no excess)
