Lalbagh Botanical Garden / Bangalore / India / 13.03.2020

A large stone form like a frozen sea wave emerged from among the greenery. As if the sea has turned into stone. Or is it a stone hatch closing off access to the inside of the earth? To secrets? To a passageway leading to the other side of the world? To another life? We see only a fragment, a huge part of a mountain of stone, the rest is hidden out of sight, in the ground. Everything hides from us, and we have been searching and trying to solve mysteries all of our lives. Or perhaps, the opposite is true: that which is shown is what should be visible and there are no secrets, only we do not pay heed and therefore do not understand.

Loppa Island / Norway / 05.04.2016

The view of snow-clad mountains, a dolphin in the distance and the warming sun compensate for the cold and the journey’s discomfort. Here on Loppa Island in early April, winter is not yet over. For several days I have been hypnotised by the views, despite the fact that for several years I’ve been visiting the north of Norway. I watch time stop and then reverse. It could’ve been like this a hundred, even a thousand years ago. Norway fascinates, like a great mystery discovered anew each time. I am looking and I see.
Maciej Jasiński, holding the photo like a born and bred Indian.
Each photograph used during the journey stops being luggage, changes its destiny, takes on a new life. It creates a unique travel sack with a story in the background. Always just one. One shot, one sack. Luggage (no excess)
