Research on the Bertil glacier is conducted by a group of scientists from the Czech Republic. We’re taking the last measurements for the season on the glacier with our glaciologist at the request of the Czechs, who have left a few days earlier, closing up their base ahead of winter. We’re walking to the glacier. To get to its ridge, we enter the moraines, through which a wave of ice flows from the body of the glacier. We go through the corridors formed inside the glacier, as if we were entering Bertil’s veins, from which water, like blood from a wound, slowly seeps. The heart is still beating.
