Behind the Brandenburg Gate, the symbol of Peace and Freedom; ahead of us is Victory Column, commemorating military victories over other nations. Flanking each side, cars are whizzing by in both directions like a shock wave.

They are on the rocks at the glacier. That’s the signal we got on the radio. We are changing course and full speed ahead. Sailing to see the polar bears that have gone out on the rocks near the Nordenskiold glacier. We’re sailing very fast. The feeling of even greater speed is caused by the wind blowing from the land. It has started raining. A slight drizzle, but under the influence of the speed of the boat and the wind, it cuts, as if needles are being pressed into our flesh. As if defending against access to the bears and the glacier. This is not our domain. It’s the kingdom of ice and white bears. Wind, rain, speed and time. Defender and perpetrator. We’re in a hurry to make it. To see and remember. Bears can’t be seen from far away, but the glacier is visible. We rush to meet a glacier pouring out of the land like a shock wave from the riverbed. The sky is covered with dense clouds illuminated only above the glacier. We’ll remember before it disappears. The bears too.

Each photograph used during the journey stops being luggage, changes its destiny, takes on a new life. It creates a unique travel sack with a story in the background. Always just one. One shot, one sack. Luggage (no excess)
