There is sun. There is hope. The soul is warming up, it’s getting warmer in general. The cold becomes more pleasant and the white has begun to take on colour. It is wonderful. The sun heats us up and the ice cools us down. Warm, cold. When it’s too hot we need to cool down, when it’s too cold, we warm up. The sun and the cold are necessary for life. Our life and the life of the Earth. For the planet not to heat up too much, there must be enough ice that reflects the sun’s rays and prevents the planet from warming up. But the hot sun also melts the ice. Then you need snow. Snow falls and glaciers can regenerate. The cycle of life in harmony. Warm, cold, warm, cold, warm…

There comes a time when you have to sort through the pictures from your trips. Pictures saved on CDs, DVDs, pen drives and hard drives. Digital recording media have a limited lifetime, as with everything else in this world. From the analogue era (before the digital era and the world without the Internet) we have photo albums, slides in frames ready for projection and everything in a quantity that could be digested over a dinner or two. Three, tops. From the digital age we have photo banks, clouds, disks, SSDs, with thousands, hundreds of thousands of files on them. Files saved as a series of numbers. I’ll look through, sort, select and print. Every time I promise myself I will do it when someone asks to show them photos from a trip. The process is crucial. The photo itself is only the finale, closure of the process. That’s why I’m in no hurry to show anything. But I’ve promised. I’m downloading. ERROR file corrupted.

Each photograph used during the journey stops being luggage, changes its destiny, takes on a new life. It creates a unique travel sack with a story in the background. Always just one. One shot, one sack. Luggage (no excess)
