Red Fort and an amusement park. Which one to see first? Go around the walls or off to the Ferris wheel. The din is the same everywhere. The crowd of tourists is seeking out attractions as if undecided. The sun is bouncing off the walls of the fort. We are walking behind the walls to hide and rest in peace. A throng of people most likely had the same idea.

Unknown Lake / Lithuania / 20.09.2009

We’re coming back from Latvia from an off-road car trip. We’re driving on little frequented gravel roads, forest paths, sometimes wild overgrown meadows. We sleep in the cars, but we always look for a place to set up camp. To light a bonfire, to talk, to stargaze before it’s time to turn in. On leaving the forest, we unexpectedly came upon a magical lake painted in the colours of the setting sun. A thick orange tranquility all around and only the sound of an oar being submerged in water.

Each photograph used during the journey stops being luggage, changes its destiny, takes on a new life. It creates a unique travel sack with a story in the background. Always just one. One shot, one sack. Luggage (no excess)
